What this trial studies
This program gathers biological samples, health information, and imaging data from participants at the National Heart Centre Singapore. It aims to study various cardiovascular conditions, including dilated cardiomyopathy, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and ischemic heart disease, by comparing data from both patients and healthy volunteers. The collected biospecimens will be stored indefinitely for future research on molecular and imaging aspects of cardiovascular health. The study employs cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging and fat mass measurement as part of its methodology.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged between 16 and 90 years, including both patients with cardiovascular conditions and healthy volunteers.
Not a fit: Patients outside the age range of 16 to 90 years will not be eligible to participate in this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this research could enhance our understanding of cardiovascular diseases and lead to improved diagnostic and treatment strategies.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing biobanks and imaging techniques have shown promise in advancing cardiovascular research, indicating that this approach is both relevant and potentially impactful.
