Using artificial intelligence to predict ischemic cerebrovascular disease early
Establish an Artificial Intelligence Clinical Decision Support System for Patients With Carotid/Vertebral Artery Stenosis.
Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine · NCT06978348

What this trial studies
This project aims to develop an artificial intelligence-based clinical decision support system to identify patients with carotid and vertebral artery stenosis who are at risk of cerebral infarction. By analyzing demographic and clinical data from multiple centers, the study seeks to create a predictive model for disease progression and adverse cardiovascular events. The goal is to enhance secondary prevention strategies for chronic stroke management, ultimately improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs associated with ischemic stroke.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients undergoing vascular ultrasound for carotid or vertebral artery assessment.
Not a fit: Patients with incomplete clinical data or those not undergoing the necessary vascular ultrasound will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve early detection and management of ischemic cerebrovascular disease, potentially reducing the incidence of strokes.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of artificial intelligence in medical prediction models is gaining traction, this specific approach to ischemic cerebrovascular disease is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
