What this trial studies
This study evaluates a mobile health system designed to assist individuals with chronic and complex health conditions, such as spinal cord injuries and cerebral palsy, in improving their self-management skills. Participants will use mobile applications to receive reminders for self-care routines, report health issues, and track symptoms, while clinicians will have access to a portal for monitoring and communication. The goal is to enhance wellness and prevent complications through better self-management compared to standard care. The study aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of this innovative approach in a community setting.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 12 and older with chronic and complex conditions living in community settings.
Not a fit: Patients with severe intellectual disabilities or psychiatric illnesses may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this mobile health system could significantly improve self-management and health outcomes for patients with chronic conditions.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results using mobile health interventions for chronic conditions, indicating potential success for this approach.
