What this trial studies

This study aims to create a clinical registry that collects images and videos from endoscopic ultrasound procedures performed on patients with pancreatic diseases. It will gather historical, pathological, and imaging data from around 12,000 patients, including both retrospective and prospective cases. The focus is on patients with inflammatory pancreatic conditions, autoimmune diseases, and neoplastic conditions, all treated at the Bilio-Pancreatic Endoscopy and Endoscopic Ultrasound Unit of IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital. The data collected will help improve understanding and management of these conditions over a span of nearly three decades.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults over 18 with suspected or confirmed inflammatory pancreatic disease, autoimmune bilio-pancreatic disease, or bilio-pancreatic neoplastic disease requiring endoscopic ultrasound.

Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have contraindications to endoscopic ultrasonography will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this registry could enhance diagnostic accuracy and treatment strategies for patients with pancreatic diseases.

How similar studies have performed: While there may be similar registries, this specific approach to compiling a comprehensive image and video database for pancreatic diseases is relatively novel.
