What this trial studies

This observational study aims to establish a registry to investigate the progression of pre-neoplastic lesions and gastric cancer associated with Helicobacter pylori infection. It will involve longitudinal data collection from adults diagnosed with H. pylori infection, atrophic gastritis, intestinal metaplasia, dysplasia, or gastric cancer. The study will utilize esophagogastroduodenoscopy for surveillance and data gathering to better understand the factors influencing disease progression and optimal surveillance techniques.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older with a current or past diagnosis of H. pylori infection and related gastric conditions.

Not a fit: Patients with co-morbid illnesses that prevent endoscopic surveillance or those who decline participation in the study will not benefit.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved surveillance strategies and treatment approaches for patients at risk of gastric cancer.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in similar approaches, particularly in countries with high gastric cancer incidence, indicating potential for meaningful insights.
