What this trial studies

This observational study focuses on non-infectious chronic uveitis in pediatric patients, a rare inflammatory condition affecting the eye. It aims to establish a national registry in Italy to improve the diagnosis and management of this condition through a multidisciplinary approach involving ophthalmologists, rheumatologists, and infectious disease specialists. The study will collect data from various clinical centers to evaluate care quality and patient outcomes. By documenting cases, the study seeks to enhance understanding and treatment strategies for chronic uveitis in children.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are children diagnosed with non-infectious chronic uveitis before the age of 16.

Not a fit: Patients with infectious uveitis or a history of malignant, demyelinating, or cerebral vasculitis will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved diagnosis and management of chronic uveitis in pediatric patients.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on similar registries for pediatric uveitis, the approach of establishing a national registry has shown promise in other chronic conditions.
