Uveitis in children under 18
A Study of Uveitis in Children <18 Years of Age
This project collects medical information from children with uveitis to see how often different types occur and what treatments and clinical features look like.

What this trial studies
This is an observational registry enrolling children and teens with any non‑traumatic, non‑postoperative uveitis. Participants complete a single enrollment visit with their doctor, and those with disease onset within 6 months also have a 12‑month chart review to capture early clinical course and treatments. The study records uveitis subtype, demographic and clinical features, and current and past therapies without assigning interventions. Data come from participating pediatric ophthalmology centers to describe frequency and variation across sites and patient groups.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Children and adolescents under 18 with any non‑traumatic, non‑postoperative uveitis (recent onset ≤6 months or established disease) are eligible to participate.
Not a fit: Children with traumatic or post‑operative uveitis, bilateral uveitis of differing causes, certain ocular malignancies or inherited retinal degenerations, or those with an immediate family member employed on the study are excluded and would not participate.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the data could help doctors better recognize common pediatric uveitis types and make more informed treatment and monitoring decisions.
How similar studies have performed: Similar observational registries and case series in pediatric uveitis have previously improved epidemiologic and treatment understanding, so this approach is established rather than novel.
Eligibility criteria
