What this trial studies

This pilot tests the feasibility and acceptability of the Mindset Moments program in adolescent and young adult cancer survivors who have finished primary treatment. Participants join eight weekly, one-hour live online group sessions and complete daily five-minute activities in an app, such as guided imagery and CBT check-ins. Online surveys are completed at enrollment and at 4 and 8 weeks to measure engagement, distress, and resilience. The pilot is designed to inform larger trials and refinements to the program.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are English-fluent survivors aged 19–25 with a prior AYA cancer diagnosis who have completed primary treatment and score 3 or above on the Distress Thermometer.

Not a fit: Patients who are still in active treatment, are non-English speakers, lack legal capacity to consent, or do not have reliable internet access are unlikely to benefit from this online program.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the program could give survivors an easy-to-access way to lower distress and strengthen coping after treatment.

How similar studies have performed: Related digital CBT and guided-imagery interventions have shown modest benefits for distress and resilience in cancer survivors, but Mindset Moments as applied here is a novel pilot.
