What this trial studies
This project aims to explore the prevalence of alcohol consumption among children aged 6-13 years living under adult supervision in Mbale, Eastern Uganda. Utilizing both quantitative and qualitative research methods, the study will involve a large cross-sectional survey, interviews with caregivers, children, and community stakeholders. The research will also consider various cofactors such as mental health, nutrition, and trauma, while developing assessment tools for alcohol use. The findings will help document the extent of alcohol-related issues in this demographic and inform future interventions.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children aged 6-13 years living with a caregiver who can provide informed consent.
Not a fit: Children who do not live with a caregiver or have not been in the household for at least six months may not benefit from this study.

Inclusion Criteria: Care-giver- child pairs * Children 6-13 years * Caregiver of eligible child * Caregiver adult capable of giving informed consent * Living in household for minimum 6 months together Exclusion Criteria: • Caregiver or child not living in household
