What this trial studies
This observational study aims to investigate the natural history and causes of rheumatic diseases, particularly focusing on their impact on minority communities. Participants aged 18 and older with known or suspected rheumatic diseases will undergo medical evaluations, including history, physical examinations, and necessary laboratory studies. The study seeks to understand health disparities in rheumatic diseases and will provide standard medical care while generating hypotheses for future targeted research. The findings will help inform further studies aimed at addressing these disparities.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 18 and older with known or suspected rheumatic diseases.
Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding at the time of enrollment will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved understanding and treatment strategies for rheumatic diseases in minority populations.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in exploring health disparities in rheumatic diseases, making this approach both relevant and necessary.
