Exploring prolonged muscle responses in ACL reconstructed patients
Exploring Prolonged Arthrogenic Muscle Responses and Associated Factors After Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction
This study is trying to see if feelings of fear about movement before or after ACL surgery affect how long muscle responses last and how patients feel about their knee recovery.

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to investigate the relationship between subject-reported outcomes and clinical parameters concerning prolonged arthrogenic muscle responses (AMR) in patients who have undergone anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. The study will assess whether higher levels of kinesiophobia before or after surgery correlate with the long-term occurrence of AMR. Additionally, it will evaluate if the presence of AMR is linked to the patients' subjective assessments of knee function and stability during their recovery process.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 18-40 who have suffered an ACL rupture and are undergoing surgical reconstruction.
Not a fit: Patients with revision ACL reconstruction or those with severe lower limb injuries, muscular, or neurological disorders may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of recovery dynamics in ACL reconstructed patients, potentially leading to improved rehabilitation strategies.
How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have explored aspects of kinesiophobia and recovery in ACL injuries, this specific focus on prolonged AMR is relatively novel.
