What this trial studies

This observational study will assess different diagnostic and therapeutic strategies in patients with various thyroid pathologies, including hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, benign thyroid nodules, and thyroid carcinoma. It will involve both retrospective and prospective phases, enrolling patients diagnosed from 1995 onwards and following them for up to 20 years. The study will collect clinical data that is typically gathered in routine practice without any additional procedures beyond standard care.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults over 18 years with diagnosed thyroid pathologies who can provide informed consent.

Not a fit: Patients with incomplete clinical data or those whose follow-up is less than 3 months may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve the understanding and management of thyroid conditions, leading to better patient outcomes.

How similar studies have performed: While similar observational studies have been conducted, this specific approach focusing on a comprehensive evaluation of diagnostic strategies in thyroid pathology is relatively novel.
