What this trial studies
This study aims to translate the Kamath and Stothard clinical questionnaire for diagnosing Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) into Thai and evaluate its validity and reliability. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a prevalent condition that affects hand and wrist function, often causing pain and numbness. The research will involve patients aged 18 and older who exhibit symptoms of CTS and have a confirmed diagnosis through electrodiagnostic studies. By adapting this tool for the Thai population, the study seeks to improve diagnostic accuracy and patient care.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are Thai-speaking patients aged 18 and older with symptoms consistent with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
Not a fit: Patients with other neurological diseases or those who have undergone surgical treatment for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the diagnosis of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in Thai patients, leading to better management and treatment outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific adaptation of this questionnaire is novel, similar studies have successfully validated diagnostic tools in other languages and populations.
