Zirconia dental implants for missing premolars
Comparison of Two-piece Zirconia Implants With Tissue-level and Bone-level Platform: Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial

What this trial studies
This clinical trial involves 24 patients with missing premolar teeth who will be randomly assigned to receive either tissue-level or bone-level zirconia implants. The implants will be 10-mm long and 4-mm wide, and their stability will be assessed using the International Stability Quotient (ISQ) device. After a three-month healing period, ceramic crowns will be placed on the implants, and various parameters related to implant survival and peri-implant health will be monitored over a period of 1, 3, and 5 years.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals with a single missing maxillary premolar, good oral hygiene, and overall good health.
Not a fit: Patients with oral mucosa pathology, dental caries, untreated active periodontitis, or systemic diseases affecting healing may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve the outcomes of dental implant procedures for patients with missing premolars.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on zirconia implants, this specific comparison of tissue-level versus bone-level implants is a novel approach.
