What this trial studies
The Transplant Wellness Program (TWP) is designed to enhance the overall health and well-being of patients undergoing kidney or liver transplantation. This multiphase program focuses on prehabilitation, incorporating exercise, nutrition, stress reduction, and sleep management to support patients before and after their transplant surgery. By utilizing behavior change techniques and personalized wellness strategies, the program aims to improve quality of life and promote long-term healthy lifestyle changes. Participants will receive guidance and support to help them adopt and maintain these positive behaviors.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this program are adults aged 18 and older who are on the transplant waiting list for kidney or liver transplantation.
Not a fit: Patients who are not cleared for participation by their physician or have clinical conditions that make the intervention unsafe may not benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve the quality of life and health outcomes for organ transplant patients.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown that prehabilitation and wellness programs can improve outcomes for transplant patients, indicating that this approach has potential for success.
