What this trial studies
This observational study aims to establish a comprehensive cohort of patients with sleep disordered breathing (SDB) at Xiangya Hospital in central-south China. It will include both retrospective and prospective data collection, focusing on various health parameters such as sleep quality, comorbidities, and overall health outcomes. Participants will undergo sleep monitoring, physical examinations, and various laboratory and imaging tests to assess the impact of SDB on their health. The study seeks to fill the gap in understanding how SDB interacts with other diseases and affects patient quality of life.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals suspected of having sleep disordered breathing who have undergone sleep monitoring.
Not a fit: Patients who refuse to participate or have lost clinical data will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved management strategies for patients with sleep disordered breathing and associated comorbidities.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on similar cohort studies specifically addressing SDB and multimorbidity, the approach of integrating retrospective and prospective data collection has shown promise in other health research.
