What this trial studies

This pilot interventional program delivers an adapted physical activity (APA) regimen remotely using the MOOV+ application to adults with inflammatory bowel disease. Participants must be at least 18, have a confirmed IBD diagnosis for six months or more, medical clearance for exercise, and internet access; highly physically active individuals are excluded. The program is designed to provide light-to-moderate tailored exercise sessions with remote monitoring and guidance and will measure changes in quality of life and feasibility outcomes. The trial is conducted at GHI Le Raincy Montfermeil and CHU Nantes, with collaboration from Janssen Cilag S.A.S.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults (18+) with a confirmed IBD diagnosis for at least six months who are motivated, medically cleared for exercise, have internet access and a compatible device, and are not already highly physically active.

Not a fit: Patients with medical contraindications to exercise, significant psychological disorders that prevent participation, those already engaging in very high levels of physical activity, or those without internet/device access are unlikely to benefit from this program.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the program could improve patients' quality of life, reduce fatigue, and make tailored exercise easier to access for people with IBD.

How similar studies have performed: Previous small studies and exercise programs in IBD have shown promise for symptom and quality-of-life improvements, but remotely delivered adapted physical activity programs remain relatively novel and less well tested.
