What this trial studies
This study aims to create a comprehensive registry of patients diagnosed with gastrointestinal motility disorders, such as eosinophilic esophagitis and gastroparesis. Physicians specializing in GI motility will accurately diagnose these conditions based on clinical consensus rather than billing codes. The registry will facilitate better identification of patients and promote future research in gastroenterology motility disorders. By gathering detailed patient information, the study seeks to enhance understanding and treatment of these common gastrointestinal issues.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients presenting with gastrointestinal motility disorders at Indiana University outpatient clinics or inpatient services.
Not a fit: Patients with coexisting medical conditions that limit their participation in clinical research may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this registry could lead to improved diagnosis and treatment options for patients with gastrointestinal motility disorders.
How similar studies have performed: While the approach of creating a registry is common, the specific focus on accurate motility diagnosis in this context is relatively novel.
