What this trial studies
This observational study involves patients treated at the European Institute of Oncology who receive radiotherapy for neoplasms located in the upper or lower limbs. Approximately 60% of patients with neoplasms undergo radiotherapy as part of their treatment, which may be combined with other systemic or surgical therapies. The study aims to collect data on treatment outcomes and tolerability to identify optimal treatment strategies for various types of bone and soft tissue tumors, as well as metastatic conditions. By analyzing this data, the research seeks to enhance understanding of effective radiotherapy protocols.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients receiving radiotherapy for primary or secondary neoplasms localized in the upper or lower limbs.
Not a fit: Patients receiving radiotherapy for conditions outside of the limbs will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved treatment strategies for patients with limb neoplasms, enhancing their outcomes and quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in using radiotherapy for limb neoplasms, but this specific observational approach is less common.
