What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effects of a pulmonary and cardiovascular rehabilitation program on patients with chronic respiratory diseases and cardiovascular conditions. It aims to improve functional capacity, quality of life, and respiratory variables over a 3-month period. Participants will engage in exercise interventions tailored to their specific health needs, focusing on those diagnosed with conditions like COPD, asthma, and heart diseases. The program is conducted at the physical therapy service of CECOM at the University of Campinas.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals diagnosed with COPD, pulmonary emphysema, pulmonary fibrosis, asthma, or various cardiovascular conditions such as myocardial infarction and chronic heart failure.
Not a fit: Patients with contraindications to exercise, such as significant arrhythmias or untreated heart disease, may not benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly enhance the quality of life and functional capacity for patients with chronic respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown that pulmonary and cardiovascular rehabilitation programs can effectively improve patient outcomes, indicating a strong potential for success in this approach.
