What this trial studies
This project aims to create a biobank that collects clinical information, DNA, plasma, and aortic tissue samples from patients with various cardiovascular diseases, as well as healthy controls. The study will gather biological specimens and family history to establish a comprehensive database that researchers can use for future studies. By providing well-annotated DNA samples along with demographic and clinical information, the project seeks to enhance understanding of cardiovascular conditions and their genetic underpinnings.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults over 18 with aortic pathology, cardiovascular disease, or healthy individuals without cardiovascular issues.
Not a fit: Patients who are unwilling or unable to provide informed consent will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this project could lead to improved understanding and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have successfully established biobanks for cardiovascular research, indicating a promising approach.
