What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate how well patients with bone tumors adhere to a personalized home exercise program following lower limb salvage surgery and neoadjuvant chemotherapy. It focuses on the importance of rehabilitation in improving quality of life and reducing chemotherapy side effects. The study will collect data over two years from patients undergoing surgery, assessing factors that may influence their adherence to the exercise regimen. By promoting independent exercise, the study seeks to empower patients in their recovery process.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients aged 12 years and older with bone tumors who are undergoing lower limb surgery and receiving adjuvant treatment.
Not a fit: Patients who have difficulty understanding the Italian language or do not use digital services may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly enhance recovery and quality of life for patients undergoing treatment for bone tumors.
How similar studies have performed: While there are no prior studies specifically targeting bone tumor patients with home exercise programs, similar approaches in other cancer populations have shown varying degrees of success.
