What this trial studies

This study evaluates the effectiveness of a nursing educational intervention aimed at reducing anxiety in patients scheduled for treatment in a hyperbaric chamber. Participants will receive an informative brochure and a detailed explanation of the hyperbaric chamber operation before their first session. The intervention group will have a more comprehensive educational session compared to the control group, which will receive standard information. The goal is to determine if this enhanced educational approach can significantly lower anxiety levels in patients.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients who are scheduled for hyperbaric chamber treatment and have low anxiety levels as indicated by the Pfeiffer questionnaire.

Not a fit: Patients who experience fear inside the hyperbaric chamber may not benefit from this intervention.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could lead to reduced anxiety for patients undergoing hyperbaric treatment, improving their overall experience and outcomes.

How similar studies have performed: While similar educational interventions have shown promise in reducing anxiety in various medical settings, this specific approach in the context of hyperbaric treatment is relatively novel.
