What this trial studies
This intervention aims to develop and evaluate a mobile health program using WhatsApp to promote skin cancer risk-reduction behaviors among Hispanic individuals. The study will gather insights from key stakeholders and community members to ensure the intervention is culturally relevant and effective. Participants will be assessed for their engagement and satisfaction with the intervention, as well as changes in their sun protection behaviors over three and six months. The findings will inform future pilot studies and potential refinements to the intervention.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are Hispanic individuals aged 18 and older who have multiple skin cancer risk factors and do not engage in sufficient sun protection behaviors.
Not a fit: Patients currently being treated for melanoma or nonmelanoma skin cancer will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve skin cancer prevention behaviors among Hispanic populations at risk.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success with mobile health interventions targeting preventive behaviors, suggesting a promising approach for this population.
