What this trial studies

This study aims to explore the development of social cognition skills in children with epilepsy compared to healthy peers. It will assess the relationship between executive functions, language skills, and social cognition through various evaluations, including neuropsychological assessments. The study will involve children aged 6-12, both with epilepsy and a control group of healthy children, to identify any atypical developments in social cognition among those with epilepsy. Participants will not receive any new treatments but will undergo comprehensive evaluations to gather data.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include children aged 6-12 with a diagnosis of epilepsy who are French native speakers.

Not a fit: Patients with neurological or psychiatric diseases in the control group may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of social cognition development in children with epilepsy, potentially leading to better support and interventions.
