What this trial studies
This prospective, observational, bicentric project translated the mPCOSQ from English into French and conducted a pre-test phase with phone interviews of the first 30 respondents to check face validity and feasibility. Enrolled French-speaking women aged 18–45 with PCOS complete the mPCOSQ-F and the generic SF-36 at baseline. Participants complete the mPCOSQ-F again after 1–2 weeks to determine test–retest reliability. The final phase compares the mPCOSQ-F results to SF-36 scores and examines internal consistency, reliability, and construct validity.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: French-fluent women aged 18–45 with a PCOS diagnosis per the 2023 international criteria, not pregnant or breastfeeding, and able to consent and participate are ideal candidates.
Not a fit: Women with adrenal hyperplasia, androgen-producing tumors, Cushing's syndrome, thyroid disorders, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or those under legal protection are excluded and may not benefit from this questionnaire validation.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, clinicians and researchers will have a validated French tool to measure health-related quality of life in women with PCOS, supporting better symptom tracking and patient-centered care.
How similar studies have performed: Translations and validations of the PCOSQ/mPCOSQ in other languages have generally shown good reliability and validity, so this questionnaire-based approach is well established.
