Genetic and molecular analysis of brain lesions
Genetic and Molecular Characterization of Nervous System Lesions
This study is trying to better understand brain tumors and lesions by looking at their genetics and biology in patients who have had surgery, to help improve diagnosis and find new treatments.

What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on the genetic and molecular characterization of brain tumors and lesions to improve diagnostic and prognostic classifications. It aims to refine the understanding of the biological mechanisms involved in these conditions and develop new targeted treatment strategies. The study involves the collection of biological samples from patients who have undergone surgery for brain lesions, including tumors and non-tumoral lesions. By utilizing advanced genomic techniques, the research seeks to enhance the classification of these pathologies and identify potential theranostic targets.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients aged 18 and older who have been operated on for a brain lesion or are being followed up for such conditions.
Not a fit: Patients with brain lesions who are not undergoing surgical intervention or follow-up may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment options for patients with brain tumors and lesions.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in utilizing genetic and molecular characterization for brain tumors, indicating a promising approach in this field.
