What this trial studies
This study evaluates the impact of language concordance on the progression of fertility treatments for Spanish-speaking patients. It compares the experiences of patients who communicate with a Spanish-speaking provider versus those who use an interpreter. Participants will complete surveys in their preferred language to assess satisfaction and communication effectiveness. The study aims to identify whether language barriers delay testing and treatment initiation in fertility care.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are Spanish-speaking individuals over 18 years old who are actively seeking fertility treatment.
Not a fit: Patients who prefer to communicate in English or are not currently seeking fertility care will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve fertility treatment outcomes for Spanish-speaking patients by enhancing communication and reducing delays.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research specifically on language concordance in fertility treatment, studies in other medical fields have shown that language barriers can negatively impact patient outcomes, suggesting this approach could be beneficial.
