Exploring how coffee affects metabolic rate
Variation in the Impact of Coffee on the Metabolic Rate
NA · Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology ,Chinese Academy of Sciences · NCT06432504

What this trial studies
This study investigates how coffee consumption influences metabolic rate in healthy adults, focusing on variations based on age, sex, body composition, and habitual coffee intake. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive different doses of caffeine and undergo metabolic measurements before and after consumption. The study will also analyze genetic factors by collecting blood samples for SNP analysis. Participants must refrain from strenuous exercise prior to the experiment to ensure accurate results.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are healthy adults aged 18-40 who do not have any metabolic or digestive diseases.
Not a fit: Patients with recent surgeries, long-term medication needs, or metabolic diseases will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights into how coffee consumption affects metabolism, potentially guiding dietary recommendations.
How similar studies have performed: While studies on caffeine and metabolism exist, this specific investigation into individual variations based on genetic and demographic factors is relatively novel.
