Examining blood flow changes in hypertension
Non-Invasive HaemoDYNAMICs in Primary and Secondary Hypertension: the DYNAMIC-study

What this trial studies
This study investigates the haemodynamic changes in individuals with primary and secondary hypertension using non-invasive measurement techniques. It employs radial pulse wave analysis and whole-body impedance cardiography to assess various cardiovascular parameters in both supine and upright positions. The study also includes a control group of subjects with chronic fatigue syndrome for comparison. The aim is to better understand the functional haemodynamic status of hypertensive patients and how it differs among various conditions.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include independent adults with primary or secondary hypertension, as well as normotensive control subjects and those with aortic stenosis.
Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant or have low blood pressure (systolic blood pressure <90 mmHg) may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved understanding and management of hypertension, potentially reducing cardiovascular complications.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success with similar non-invasive haemodynamic measurement approaches, indicating potential for valuable insights.
