What this trial studies
This study assesses the functional outcomes and health-related quality of life in patients who have undergone limb salvage surgery for bone or soft tissue sarcoma in the lower extremities. It focuses on individuals aged 18 to 95 years who are at least one year post-surgery, evaluating their experiences and outcomes related to different surgical procedures. The research aims to provide insights into the psychological and physical impacts of these surgeries, helping to inform future treatment decisions for patients and their families.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients aged 18 to 95 who have undergone limb salvage surgery for lower extremity sarcoma at UZ Leuven and are at least one year post-surgery.
Not a fit: Patients with prior major lower limb surgeries or those with conditions affecting the locomotor system may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of the best surgical options for improving quality of life in sarcoma patients.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown varying outcomes for different surgical approaches in sarcoma patients, indicating that this area of research is both relevant and necessary.
