What this trial studies
This study investigates how reformer pilates exercises impact posture, core endurance, and body awareness in adolescents aged 10-19. Participants will be randomly assigned to either an intervention group, which will perform pilates exercises twice a week for six weeks, or a control group that will receive educational information on posture. The effectiveness of the intervention will be assessed through various endurance tests and posture analysis before and after the six-week period. The goal is to determine if pilates can significantly improve these physical outcomes compared to standard informational support.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy adolescents aged 10-19 who can read and write in Turkish.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of orthopedic injury in the last three months, obesity, or those under follow-up for scoliosis may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance adolescents' posture and core endurance, leading to better physical health and body awareness.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research specifically on reformer pilates for adolescents, similar exercise interventions have shown positive outcomes in improving posture and core strength in various populations.
