What this trial studies
This study evaluates the VIRTUES digital healthcare application designed to assist patients with various cardiac conditions, including heart diseases and arrhythmias. The application provides tailored recommendations and educational resources based on clinical practice guidelines, targeting 11 modifiable health factors. It aims to improve access to cardiac rehabilitation, especially for patients in rural areas of Canada who may lack local in-person clinics. By utilizing a user-friendly interface, VIRTUES helps patients manage their conditions effectively through personalized health information and guidance.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include any patient with a cardiovascular condition who can provide informed consent and has access to mobile technology.
Not a fit: Patients with medical conditions that make 1-month survival unlikely will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this application could significantly enhance the management and rehabilitation of cardiac patients, improving their quality of life.
