What this trial studies
This observational study aims to create a biobank by collecting serum, synovial fluid, and skin biopsies from patients diagnosed with various rheumatic diseases. The samples will be utilized for both clinical and basic research to better understand the genetic and protein profiles associated with these conditions. The goal is to enhance knowledge about disease progression, response to therapy, and the underlying factors contributing to these autoimmune diseases. The biobank will serve as a valuable resource for future studies aimed at advancing personalized medicine in rheumatology.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults over 18 years of age who have a diagnosed rheumatic condition and are willing to provide informed consent.
Not a fit: Patients who do not have a rheumatic condition or are under 18 years of age will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this biobank could lead to improved understanding and treatment of rheumatic diseases, ultimately benefiting patients through more personalized therapeutic approaches.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing biobanks for rheumatic diseases have shown promise in advancing research, indicating that this approach is both valuable and tested.
