Collection of blood samples to study pediatric heart disease
IPSC Repository of Pediatric Cardiovascular Disease
This study is collecting blood samples from kids with congenital heart disease to see if they can create special cells that help researchers understand and treat heart problems in children better.

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to collect blood samples from patients diagnosed with congenital heart disease and related syndromes to generate and maintain induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). These iPSCs will be used for genomic sequencing and biomedical research to enhance the understanding and treatment of pediatric cardiovascular diseases. By analyzing the genetic information from these patients, researchers hope to identify mutations and variations that contribute to heart conditions in children. The study also explores the potential of iPSCs to differentiate into various heart cell types, which could lead to novel drug discoveries and regenerative therapies.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include children diagnosed with congenital heart disease or related syndromes.
Not a fit: Patients without a diagnosis of cardiovascular disease or those not related to individuals in the study cohorts may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this research could lead to improved treatments and therapies for pediatric cardiovascular diseases.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing iPSCs for cardiovascular research have shown promise, indicating a potential for success in this approach.
