What this trial studies
This observational study evaluates overall survival, quality of life, and resection rates in patients with borderline resectable and locally advanced pancreatic cancer across multiple Nordic hospitals. Eligibility is determined through regional multidisciplinary tumor boards, and participants will undergo assessments based on established NCCN and ISGPS guidelines. The study focuses on collecting data on exploration rates, resection rates, and overall survival outcomes for these patients.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults with confirmed or suspected invasive pancreatic tumors classified as borderline resectable or locally advanced according to NCCN guidelines.
Not a fit: Patients with suspected endocrine tumors, distant metastasis, or those under 18 years old may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into improving treatment strategies and patient outcomes for those with advanced pancreatic cancer.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in assessing survival and quality of life in pancreatic cancer, making this approach both relevant and supported by prior findings.
