What this trial studies

This clinical trial evaluates the effectiveness of two smoking cessation interventions: one using only cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) text messages and the other combining CBT text with mindfulness audio support. Participants will be randomly assigned to either intervention group to compare their outcomes in terms of smoking frequency, cravings, emotional regulation, and overall quality of life. The study will be conducted online, allowing participants to access materials through a dedicated platform and compatible devices. Recruitment will occur via social media, community outreach, and online advertisements.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals who smoke at least 5 cigarettes per day and wish to quit or reduce their smoking.

Not a fit: Patients currently enrolled in other smoking cessation programs or those with severe psychiatric disorders may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve smoking cessation rates and enhance emotional well-being for participants.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown that combining CBT with mindfulness techniques can be effective in treating various behavioral issues, suggesting potential success for this approach in smoking cessation.
