A network for analyzing kidney biopsy data in glomerular diseases
Multicenter Prospective Cohort of Kidney Biopsy for Glomerular Disease Research
This study is trying to build a detailed database of kidney biopsy samples and health information from patients with glomerular diseases to help researchers better understand these conditions and improve treatments.

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to create a comprehensive database of kidney biopsy samples and associated clinical data for patients with glomerular diseases such as Minimal Change Disease and IgA Nephropathy. By leveraging advances in molecular analysis and bioinformatics, the study seeks to enhance understanding of the biology of glomerulonephritis and improve precision medicine approaches in nephrology. The Korean Kidney Biopsy Network (KORNERSTONE) will collect long-term observational data and genomic information from kidney tissues, which will be archived in a web-based platform for easy access by researchers.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients suspected of glomerular disease who are undergoing kidney biopsy at participating medical centers.
Not a fit: Patients who have previously received a kidney transplant will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more personalized and effective treatment options for patients with glomerular diseases.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing genomic data from kidney biopsies have shown promise in advancing understanding and treatment of kidney diseases, suggesting this approach is both relevant and potentially impactful.
