Web-based program to identify individuals at risk for Alzheimer's disease
Alzheimer Prevention Trials (APT) Webstudy

What this trial studies
The Alzheimer Prevention Trials (APT) Webstudy aims to enhance enrollment in Alzheimer's disease clinical trials by identifying individuals at higher risk for developing dementia. Participants will register online, complete cognitive tests, and provide demographic information. They will return quarterly for follow-up assessments, and based on their risk scores, some may be invited for in-person evaluations at clinical trial sites. This approach combines web-based assessments with biomarker testing to refine the selection of high-risk individuals for further studies.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 50 and older who show no signs of dementia and are willing to participate in remote cognitive testing.
Not a fit: Patients who already have a diagnosis of dementia will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to earlier identification and intervention for individuals at risk of developing Alzheimer's disease.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using web-based assessments for cognitive health, but this specific approach is relatively novel.
Eligibility criteria
