Using wearable devices to improve health in high-risk stroke patients
Wearable Devices Empowering Active Health Initiatives for High-Risk Stroke Populations
This study is testing if smart wearable devices can help high-risk stroke patients manage their health better by reminding them to take medication, monitor their heart rate, and encourage exercise.

What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effectiveness of smart wearable devices in managing key risk factors for stroke among high-risk populations. It is a randomized controlled trial that focuses on how features like medication reminders, heart rate monitoring, and exercise prompts can improve conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia. Participants will be monitored to assess changes in their health metrics, particularly blood pressure, blood glucose, and blood lipids, as a result of using these devices.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals diagnosed with hypertension, diabetes, atrial fibrillation, or those who are physically inactive and overweight.
Not a fit: Patients with malignancies, psychiatric disorders, cognitive impairments, or those unable to operate smart wearable devices may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly enhance the management of stroke risk factors in vulnerable populations.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using wearable technology for health management, indicating potential success for this approach.
