What this trial studies
This study investigates the effectiveness of telerehabilitation combined with traditional outpatient physiotherapy for patients who have undergone total hip replacement (THA). It aims to determine if this combined approach can provide similar outcomes in terms of pain relief, functional recovery, and patient satisfaction compared to traditional rehabilitation alone. Participants will begin their outpatient treatment within a week of their surgery and will be monitored for their progress. The study focuses on patients aged 50 to 80 who can use electronic devices for telerehabilitation.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 50 to 80 who have recently undergone total hip replacement and can engage with telerehabilitation technology.
Not a fit: Patients who are undergoing revision surgery for a previous hip prosthesis or those who cannot understand Italian may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could enhance recovery and improve patient satisfaction for those recovering from total hip replacement surgery.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results for telerehabilitation in similar contexts, suggesting this approach may be effective.
