What this trial studies

This study aims to develop a national database for patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis (PD) in China, utilizing a telemedicine-assisted platform. By enrolling 7,000 adult patients with end-stage renal disease, the study will analyze survival rates and identify risk factors associated with patient outcomes. Data will be collected from 27 hospitals across various regions in China, focusing on clinical characteristics and PD practices. The goal is to enhance the understanding of PD outcomes and improve patient care through robust data analysis.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 14 and older with end-stage renal disease who are receiving maintenance peritoneal dialysis.

Not a fit: Patients receiving temporary peritoneal dialysis due to acute kidney injury may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved survival rates and better management of patients on peritoneal dialysis.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results in improving outcomes for peritoneal dialysis patients through data collection and analysis, making this approach both relevant and potentially impactful.
