What this trial studies
This study utilizes a mobile-based training system designed to enhance the knowledge and technical skills of patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis. The program aims to retrain patients who have been on dialysis for more than three months or those who have recently recovered from infections. Continuous monitoring will assess the effectiveness of this training approach in improving patient outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients who have been on peritoneal dialysis for over three months or those who have recently recovered from related infections and are mentally capable of participating.
Not a fit: Patients who cannot perform peritoneal dialysis independently or are currently suffering from infections will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly enhance the self-management skills of peritoneal dialysis patients, leading to better health outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: While mobile health interventions have shown promise in various patient populations, this specific approach in peritoneal dialysis is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
