Using ENB-guided ablation therapy with VATS for multiple lung cancers
Electromagnetic Navigation Bronchoscopy Guided Ablation Therapy Combined With VATS in the Treatment of Multiple Primary Lung Cancers

What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effectiveness and safety of combining electromagnetic navigation bronchoscopy (ENB)-guided ablation therapy with video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) for patients diagnosed with multiple primary lung cancers (MPLC). Patients will be screened for eligibility based on specific criteria, and those who qualify will receive the combined treatment. The primary goal is to assess the objective response rate, while secondary goals include measuring progression-free survival, overall survival, and safety outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older diagnosed with multiple primary lung cancer who meet specific imaging and treatment criteria.
Not a fit: Patients who cannot tolerate general anesthesia or have other significant health contraindications may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could improve treatment outcomes for patients with multiple primary lung cancers.
How similar studies have performed: While this approach is innovative, similar studies have shown promise in using combined techniques for lung cancer treatment.
Eligibility criteria
Show full inclusion / exclusion criteria
Inclusion Criteria: 1. Age ≥ 18 years old. 2. The subject is diagnosed as multiple primary lung cancer via preoperative imaging/pathological examination. 3. Thin-slice CT images show that the ablation Lesion A is accessible/adjacent to bronchi and the size is ≤ 3 cm. 4. The subject with multiple primary lung cancers can be treated with ENB-guided ablation therapy combined with VATS according to multidisciplinary assessment. Exclusion Criteria: 1. The subject who cannot tolerate general anesthesia for their cardiopulmonary function, or there are other contraindications, such as uncorrectable coagulopathy. 2. The situation in which the investigators think that the subject is not suitable to participate in this study.
