What this trial studies

This observational study aims to explore the role of cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging in understanding cardiovascular diseases. It will assess how CMR compares to other diagnostic methods, its impact on clinical management decisions, and its correlation with long-term patient outcomes. The study will enroll up to 100,000 patients presenting with known or suspected cardiovascular conditions at the Houston Methodist DeBakey CMR Laboratory over a 30-year period. Data will be collected through patient interviews, electronic health records, and annual follow-ups.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients with known or suspected cardiovascular disease who are referred for MRI studies.

Not a fit: Patients unable to provide informed consent will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved diagnostic and management strategies for patients with cardiovascular diseases.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing CMR have shown promise in enhancing the understanding and management of cardiovascular diseases, indicating a potential for success in this approach.
