What this trial studies

This clinical trial evaluates the effectiveness of the DynamiCare app in conjunction with standard methadone treatment for individuals with both opioid and cocaine use disorders. Participants will be randomly assigned to either receive the app alongside their usual methadone treatment or to continue with standard treatment alone. The study aims to assess whether the app improves retention in treatment, reduces substance use, and enhances quality of life over a 12-month period. Data will be collected through treatment records and follow-up assessments at multiple time points.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older who have self-reported cocaine use in the past 30 days and are willing to provide informed consent.

Not a fit: Patients with severe psychiatric disorders, those on home detention, or individuals with visual impairments that hinder app use may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could lead to improved treatment outcomes and quality of life for patients struggling with polysubstance use disorders.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using digital interventions for substance use disorders, suggesting potential for success with this novel approach.
