What this trial studies
This observational project monitors the availability, accessibility, and user experience of Zelfmoord1813.be and three related Flemish suicide-prevention websites. Researchers invite people aged 16 and older who have visited any of these sites to provide feedback and may combine user surveys with technical checks of site access and resource visibility. The work focuses on crisis access (phone, chat, email), clarity of information for different audiences (public, professionals, journalists), and barriers to finding help. The study is led by Ghent University and coordinated through the Flemish Centre of Expertise in Suicide Prevention in Ghent.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal participants are people aged 16 or older who have visited zelfmoord1813.be, mee-leven.be, werkgroepverder.be, or komuitjekop.be.
Not a fit: People under 16, those who have never used these websites, or individuals needing urgent inpatient psychiatric care are unlikely to benefit directly from participating.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the findings could make it easier for people in crisis to find immediate help and for professionals to access reliable suicide-prevention resources.
How similar studies have performed: Previous user-experience and website-accessibility reviews of mental-health resources have improved usability and pathways to help, although they have not consistently demonstrated reductions in suicide rates.
