What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of therapeutic taping combined with pelvic girdle stability training in children with Down syndrome over an 8-week period. Participants are divided into two groups: one receiving both therapeutic taping and stability training, and the other receiving only stability training. The effectiveness of these interventions will be assessed using trunk control assessment tools and gross motor functional scales. The study employs convenient sampling techniques to evaluate the outcomes of the interventions.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children with Down syndrome who have functional hearing and vision and can understand commands.
Not a fit: Children with severe mental retardation or a history of trauma and surgery may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve trunk control and overall motor function in children with Down syndrome.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on the specific combination of therapeutic taping and pelvic girdle stability training in this population, similar approaches have shown promise in improving motor function in children with developmental disorders.
