What this trial studies
This observational study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of speech and language interventions for Italian patients diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia (PPA). A total of 30 patients will undergo a series of assessments, including clinical interviews, neurological evaluations, and speech assessments, both before and after the intervention. The study will also include brain MRI scans to analyze structural and functional changes. The goal is to measure improvements in communication abilities and patient satisfaction over time.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are Italian-speaking individuals aged 40 to 85 with a clinical diagnosis of mild primary progressive aphasia.
Not a fit: Patients with severe cognitive impairment (MMSE score <15) or other significant neurological conditions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly enhance communication abilities and quality of life for patients with primary progressive aphasia.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results for speech and language interventions in similar patient populations, indicating potential for success in this approach.
