What this trial studies

The AFU has established a registry to improve the therapeutic management and follow-up of patients with non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). This observational study aims to collect representative data from urologists who are members of the AFU, focusing on patients monitored for NMIBC. The study will analyze the effectiveness of current management practices and the role of urinary molecular tests in monitoring these patients. Regular endoscopic examinations and urine cytology are emphasized for detecting tumor recurrence.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults over 18 years old who are being monitored for non-muscle-invasive bladder tumors and have undergone a urinary molecular test prior to their diagnosis or recurrence.

Not a fit: Patients with non-urothelial bladder tumors or those who refuse follow-up will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this registry could lead to enhanced management strategies and improved outcomes for patients with non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer.

How similar studies have performed: While this approach is observational and builds on existing practices, similar registries have shown success in improving patient outcomes in other cancer types.
